Ask a question

Permitted development rights allow certain types of development to be carried out without a planning application. The rights depend on the type of property, its location and the nature of the works. LateShield can advise on whether your proposed works are likely to fall within permitted development.

A householder planning application is used for works to an existing house, such as extensions, loft conversions, outbuildings and changes to the external appearance. It is a simpler process than a full planning application.

The local planning authority has eight weeks to determine a householder application and thirteen weeks for a major application. In practice, many applications take longer. LateShield manages the process and liaises with the planning authority to progress the application.

If a planning application is refused, LateShield can review the reasons for refusal and advise on the options, which may include revising and resubmitting the application or lodging an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate.
